Komunka gives us a glimpse of contemporary life in a communal apartment in Moscow. Presided over by the warmly sympathetic ex-actor Olga (Peggy Mahon), the tenants range from a racist, homophobic lout to a sensitive out gay man with a closeted lover. The seeming haphazardness that makes the action appear so uncomfortably realistic ... .
